A Lifetime in the Light
The idea for the Solar Light Fish Feeder didn’t start in a lab; it started on a boathouse on the bayou. When founder Shawn Taylor was just seven years old, he watched his grandparents rig a big halogen dock light and an eight-by-eight steel net. As night fell, he saw the results: white perch, bass, and garfish—all alive, all hungry, and all waiting for the bugs pulled in by the light.
Years later, while night fishing on Gulf rigs, Shawn saw the same natural chain reaction: one glow starts a cycle of bugs and minnows that brings the trout in. This lifelong observation led to a simple realization—nature already has a perfect feeding system; it just needed a solar, quiet, and clean way to power it.
